How to Enroll for Karnataka State Bar Council
APPLICATION ENROLMENT INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANDIDATES

  1. Before filling out the application, candidates should carefully read through the form and enter the details as prescribed, using capital letters.
  2. The candidate’s name must be entered in the format as it appears on their Law Degree certificate, including their surname, first name, and father’s name.
  3. Candidates must provide detailed information in the specified column regarding any previous dismissals or removals from employment, involvement in criminal cases, or any other relevant information as specified in the rules. Failure to do so may be considered misconduct under section 35 of the Advocates Act, 1961.
  4. Candidates should submit their application on or before Thursday and bring all original documents/testimonials for verification by the office at the time of filing.
  5. Required documents include: a) A duly attested Xerox copy of the Law/passing/provisional degree certificate. b) An attested Xerox copy of all law degree marks statements (subject wise). c) A Xerox copy of documentary proof of date of birth (only SSLC marks card). d) Retirement/relieving order in case of previously employed persons. e) Eight latest passport-size photographs (in Advocates robes without wearing a band). f) The fee for general candidates is Rs.14,900/- (including Rs. 2,500/- for University Verification fee) and for S.C/S.T is Rs. 11,900/- (including Rs. 2,500/- for University Verification fee). g) A special fee of Rs. 25,000/- + 14,900/- in case of General Candidate and Rs.25,000/- + 11,900/- in case of S.C./S.T. is required for retired persons/candidates who have crossed 40 years of age. h) A non-judicial stamp paper worth Rs. 500/- (under Article No.17, First Party – Candidate Name, Second Party – KSBC). i) PUC (10+2) marks card. j) Previous degree marks card and certificate (in case of 3-year LLB). k) Residential proof: any photo identity proof. l) Caste certificate (in case of SC/ST candidates). m) Certificates and marks card attestation must be done by the principal of the college, notary, or any gazetted officer.
  6. Once the application has been reviewed, the office will compile a list of candidates (provided their application is complete) to attend the Enrolment Committee on the day of enrolment, based on their availability. This information will be posted on the KSBC website.
  7. On the day of enrolment, the applicant must bring all original documents and testimonials for verification by the office. The listed candidate must personally appear before the Enrolment Committee at the appointed time and sign the register maintained by the office. Failure to do so will result in an incomplete enrolment process. After taking an oath administered by the Chairman of the Enrolment Committee, the enrolled candidates will receive their Certificate of Enrolment and Welfare Fund Certificate.
